Web Design Process

WEBSITE DESIGN PROCESS

5 WEEK TIMELINE

INQUIRE

  • discovery call

After receiving your inquiry, I will email you some basic questions and highlight pricing options for you to consider. A phone consultation will be scheduled upon approval of the budget.

During your discovery call, I will get a better understanding of your website expectations and go over timelines, page outlines, special web features, and other important details.

BOOK

  • *1 week timeline

  • deposit + design brief due

  • strategy call

After the discovery call, I will send your contract with established timelines, an invoice for deposit due, and a link to the Website Design Brief. You will have one week to pay your deposit and submit the Design Brief. Upon receiving your Design Brief, we will set up a strategy call to go over the brief and finalize the details.

GATHER

  • *2 week timeline

  • submit content

After the strategy call and once your deposit is paid, I will share a Google Drive link where you can submit your website content. A content map will be created for your copywriter to fill in and folders will be organized for image collection (please send high quality photographs…a quality image speaks a thousand words). Side note…a mood board or Pinterest board is highly recommended to share your design aesthetics with me. You will have 2 weeks to gather your content. If you are hiring a professional photographer or copywriter, a 4 week timeline may be allotted.

BUILD

  • *2 week timeline

  • domain name transferred/registered

  • design + revisions

“Design” Week 1 - If you have a domain registered with another host, I will start the transfer to Squarespace. A mood board will be created and shared for your approval. Upon approval, the design will start. At the end of Design Week, I will share the preview site and you will have one week to make revisions.

“Revisions” Week 2 - I will add all of the page links, social integrations, and implement SEO. Revisions will conclude at the end of this week.

LAUNCH

  • final balance due

  • account set up

  • maintenance call

Your final invoice will be sent at the conclusion of Revisions Week. Final balance is due before site launch. Once paid, you will be invited to become an admin on the account and site ownership will be transferred to you. We will set up a maintenance call (approx. 1.5 hours) where I will walk you through the final steps, give you a brief lesson on the Squarespace platform, and then publish the site live!
